Come out and enjoy the holiday shopping at the Richmond Raceway this weekend.

Fairfax Fall Festival is this weekend!

Exciting Weekend Ahead!! 

Fairfax Fall Festival is scheduled for this Saturday October 11th, with a rain date of Sunday the 12th. 

Over 500 Artists, food vendors, kid's corner, rides and musical entertainment will come to the streets of Historic Fairfax. From 10am - 5pm you will be able to enjoy the festivities. And it's FREE!

Painting with Espresso (Yes, Coffee!!!)

Painting withEspresso

I recently decided to try using Espresso (coffee) as paint and I am loving the warm effect. It is a medium that has a unique quality and beautiful honey toned glow. It gives the effect of age and evokes an old world feel. 

 

The setting happens to be a very aged and historic location called Chatham Manor located in Fredericksburg VA.  Making espresso the perfect medium for this painting.

Craftsman Spring Classic in Richmond

Craftsman Spring Classic, Richmond Raceway
March 14 - 16, 2014

We had a wonderful first experience participating in this show. It was our first time with the Gilmore Craftsman Classic shows.

The locals came out to experience the talent. We were blessed by meeting a lot of wonderful customers and vendors.

We look forward to the fall Craftsman Classic in Chantilly - at the Dulles Expo Center on Oct 17 - 19, 2014.

Thank you to all who came out to support us. We truly appreciate it.

This is a painting of a moving moment between a mother elephant and her young.

This watercolor painting is my first watercolor on canvas. I am painting this on a 11 x 14 Belgium linen canvas that has been gesso primed.

The watercolor acts very different on this surface, but I am enjoying the unique look it is producing.


I plan to spray it with varnish upon completion.

I will post another picture of the finished painting, once it is complete.
