Lioness - Completed Watercolor Painting

It's been fun watching this one come alive. This is an 8 x 10 watercolor on Arches art board.This was my first time using the Arches Art Board... It is more obsorbant than most boards. It is nice and thick, and allows for many layers.  Now to find that perfect frame.....

Baby G. I usually have several pieces going at one time. This is one that I am working on now.

Lioness - Watercolor Painting

This is a painting of a lioness that I am working on. She is just about finished. I am excited to say that this will be my first piece that I plan to clear coat with varnish so that I do not have to put it behind glass. I am excited to see how that turns out once it is framed.

Cougar - On the Hunt, Watercolor Painting

 

This is a watercolor painting of a cougar done on watercolor board. I am putting the final touches on this one. I usually allow my pieces to rest in the studio for several weeks / months while I study them. this allows me to see things that need to be tweeked that I don't see in the process of painting it. I hope to have this one completed for the Fredericksburg Expo Holiday Craft show on December 7th and 8th, 2013.

Preening - Watercolor Painting on the easel

This is a new piece I am working on using watercolor and watercolor board. I recently became a foster home to a scarlet macaw and I have been inspired to create a painting of him. This is Romeo.... I am still trying to obtain the right feel of warmth in the background... I will post more photos as the piece evolves.
